Scientists say we need a food revolution for our health and the environment.

The Planetary Health Diet was developed by 37 scientists from 16 countries. They worked together for 3 years.

The new diet has enough calories to be healthy. It is mostly plant based. It is low in processed foods and sugars.

The diet is better for the environment and health. There are over 800 million people without enough food. Many more people eat unhealthy food and die early as a result. This diet aims to save lives and reduce damage to the environment.

There will be 10 billion people on earth by 2050. “Humanity is a threat to our planet,” said Johan Rockstrom of the Stockholm Resilience Center. “This requires a new global agricultural revolution.”

The diet calls for people to eat half as much red meat. It also calls for us to eat twice as much nuts, fruits and vegetables.
